Tourist Visa

To Be Eligible:

• Must be a genuine temporary entrant
• Must have sufficient funds to support his/her stay in Australia.
• Could be onshore or offshore
• Must be in the best interest of the applicant under 18.
• Must meet the character requirement
• Must meet health requirements (if applicable)

Depending upon the applicant’s requirement, different types of tourist visas could be applicable as mentioned below

Tourist Stream (apply onshore)

• Applicant can stay up to 12 months.
• Visit friends and family, cruise, or have a holiday.
• If you hold another visa that is expiring and want to stay longer, this visa might suit you.
• You must be onshore when you apply and when DoHA (Dept. of Home Affairs) decides your application.

Tourist Stream (apply offshore) 

• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Applicant can stay for 3, 6, or 12 months.
• Visit friends and family, cruise, or have a holiday.
• You must be offshore when you apply and when DoHA decides your visa

Sponsored Family Stream

• You must be sponsored by an eligible family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
• DoHA might ask your sponsor to pay a security bond.
• You must be outside Australia when you apply and when DoHA decides on your visa.

Business Visitor Stream

• You can make a short visit for business visitor reasons, but you can’t work or sell goods or services.
• DoHA might let you enter Australia once or many times while the visa is valid.
• You must be outside Australia when you apply and when DoHA decides your visa.

Approved Destination Status Stream

• This visa lets citizens of the People’s Republic of China (excluding SARs) visit Australia with an organised tour group
• You must remain with the organised tour group

Frequent Traveler Stream

• DoHA ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​might grant a validity period for up to 10 years
• You must hold a passport from the People’s Republic of China (excluding SARs).
• You must provide biometrics within the People’s Republic of China before you apply.
